Every one of us put on makeup (at least a few of the time), but is your technique yielding the perfect results? Here, Kimberly Soane, the director of artistry at Bobbi Brown, provides some simple pointers to be sure we’re using from concealer to bronzer to mascara right.

ConcealerNever put concealer or foundation on your own eyelids like a base, it’ll cause your skills makeup to crease.

FoundationUse your fingers to use your foundation if you would like sheer coverage and a brush if you more polished, medium to full coverage.

Always apply powder where you stand shiniest first, so it usually your T-zone, having a very light dusting otherwise.

BronzerYou need to put bronzer on your own neck, face, and chest to even out the skin tone. Take a step back and ensure everything is the same color.


When applying blush, first smile, then begin the apple from the cheek, blend the blush back near the top of the ear, then down toward the jawline.


Always apply your brow pencil or powder towards the upper area of the eyebrow to raise your face up.

You need to ensure that your lipstick is not too defined at your cupid’s bow (the top of the your lip), which goes completely out to the inner corners of your mouth. Make sure to press down hard as you apply.

EyeshadowBegin with a base shadow without the shimmer that suits the lightest skin tone in your face and apply on your lid to the brow. You need to use this base shadow to make sure the darker shadows used on your lid up to the crease are properly blended.

EyelinerRather than looking straight ahead at the mirror, get as near to it as possible, stick your face up and bring your chin toward the mirror. You need to look down while you apply, starting at the inner corner and ensuring to go completely out to the fold externally the eye.

MascaraYou dont want to do quick soft motions whenever you apply mascara. Instead, jam the wand in to the root of the lash and do zigzag motions along the way up.
