Becoming a designer used to take years of training, grunt work in the back room of some established designer’s studio, a lot of hustling, and some luck. But then the Internet came along and made it so that even little ole you could skip the years of struggle and cut to the chase. Case in point: Ray-Ban just launched a new program, Remix, which allows the untrained masses to customize the color of the frames and lenses of their eyewear and even add engraving to the temple, should they so choose. It’s available on nine of their most iconic styles, so you can’t fck it up too badly (which is a good thing).
Once you order them online it takes around three to five days till they arrive and they start at the base price of $130, which, when you think about it, is a much quicker and cheaper than, you know, learning how to actually design. Who has time for that?
